Currently Reading

Started this book the other day. Still at the beginning of it and so far it's really good.

I have read 19 books this year so far. My goal was 12 and I'm really happy that I completed it. Looking forward to the new year for a new goal. Wow that made be just think....where did this year go?!?!

Today's Random Words

Here are the lucky words I picked today.

group come take love although

I have been really wanting to write and share my own poems, but that step for me is really big. It's on such a more personal level. I felt like that when I first put my art online to sell, however over time it's now way more easier for some reason. We'll see.

Random Words

In July I started this random word thing. I printed out some different words, cut them up, tossed them together and then picked a few to form something that hopefully makes sense. I don't look at the words when picking them out to keep it interesting.

Here are the ones I did up until October 6th.

So Long & Googly Eyes

Wow it's been so long since my last post. I'll try not to let that happen again.

I have some silly crochet stuff that I made to share will you. They all have one thing in common. Googly eyes.

My favorite time is finally here. Autumn! So it was only appropriate that I made a crochet autumn leaf.

His name is Lewis. Yup they all have names.

This is Tim. Tim the tiny shrimp. My husband actually named him. The pattern called for all black eyes, but only had one. Didn't think googly eyes would look right, but I pulled out my stash and tried it out. I absolutely love it will the googly eyes! Well you can only see one in the pics, but you get the idea.

And last but not least....Uranus....the planet. Name to come soon.

Googly eyes make everything better. I'll probably be making more.....I think I saw a potato pattern somewhere.

From My Art Journal

Here are two entries that I did in my art journal.

That One Day

Bird & Star

Here is another entry in my art journal.

I know it's early to think about Christmas, however my husband and I are planning to do a handmade nontraditional Christmas tree this year. So to get a head start, yesterday I made an origami star ornament for it. The tree will probably have a combination of handmade and store bought decorations. We have to get the supplies for the tree yet. Can't wait! Then we can get to work on it. In the meantime I'll continue to make more ornaments.

Journaling & New Instagram

On July 1st I started on one of the journals I made from the previous post.

 Front cover.

Inside cover and first page.

I'm looking forward to doing more pages and sharing them.

Ten Mini....

I made ten mini journals this morning. They were a spur of the moment thing and now I have the fun job of filling them up. Photos will be posted as I go along.

To give you an idea of their sizes. These are about 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches.

Challenge Completed & Currently Reading

Today I completed my 2018 Goodreads reading challenge! My reading goal was 12 books and any more read until the end of this year will just be added to the count.

Currently Reading

I love to read and will post books here that I'm currently reading. At the moment I don't give a full in depth review of each book, however a simple star review is given in my Goodreads account. If you would like to follow me there click here. My reading goal for 2018 is 12 books and this book will be my 12th. Almost done!

Little One

Made this little one today.

Welcome

Hello! Welcome to These Corridors. My name is Roxanne and I started this blog as a personal place to share things like photos, art, crafts, poems and rambling thoughts. Those things come from these corridors within my mind and heart.

Years ago I was trying to come up with a new name to sell my art under and it was between They Come Along and These Corridors. I went with They Come Along instead and I know for my shop I made the right decision. However the other day I just had this feeling of wanting to do something more personal for myself and the idea of starting a blog sounded really great. Of course I needed a name for it and came back to These Corridors. I played around with the name, came up with a few variations of it and also totally different ones. However These Corridors kept pulling me in and just ran with it.

I’m excited to see where all of this goes and hope you follow along on this journey.
